A&W Malaysia is bringing the retro vibe back again, introducing its latest outlet at Seventeen Mall, Section 17, Petaling Jaya.
The 49th A&W outlets will evoke the groovy concept of the 60s, 70s and 80s to commemorate its journey as the first fast food restaurant in Malaysia, which has been in the country since 1963.
The new branch is the first to feature retro-themed design with modern touch, complete with checkered space and bar-style seating. It’s also very Instagrammable!
There’s also a music Juke Box for patrons to play some cool choices of funk, soul, disco and classical music.
The restaurant can accommodate more than 80 customers at a time.
However, there’s a Private Zone that can accommodate up to 20 people for special occasions such as birthday celebrations and celebrations.
A&W Malaysia chief executive officer, George Ang said that the retro concept restaurant symbolises its continued commitment to customers.
“We aim to bring back the glory of the past and at the same time attract customers among the younger and modern generations,” he said adding that while this new restaurant has a uniqueness that is loved by the older generation, they hope that the new vibe will attract the millennials.
For more than half a century, this brand has captivated Malaysians with its famous iconic menus such as A&W RB and float, ice cream waffles and Coney
.”Recently, Malaysians have also enjoyed our special dishes including Mozza Burger and A&W Aroma Chicken, which are made from fresh ingredients to ensure the best quality from us,” he said.
To prioritize the safety of the customers and staff, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) will be implemented in all of A&W restaurants including strict sanitation procedures to ensure the dining experience is safe and lively under the Recovery Phase Movement Control Order (RMCO).
This includes the sanitation process performed on tables, chairs, alarms, trays and door handles.
Customer dining-in is encouraged to wear face masks and practice social distancing too. Face mask is available (on request) for RM1 a piece, and all profit will be channeled to charity.
Body temperature screening will also be conducted at the entrance.
Customers will also receive the sauce in small packages with no sauce counter.
Currently, A&W operates 49 restaurants nationwide and following the opening of the first retro concept restaurant, another outlet with same retro concept will be opened at Ipoh Parade.–NST
