How would you react if you are facing chronic hunger? We would never truly understand the concept of chronic hunger as we are currently living in a peaceful and economically stable country.

From the report “The State of Food Security and Nutrition in The World 2020” released by the World Health Organization (WHO) stated there are a total of 690 million of people in hunger in 2019, the total amount increased approximately 10 million from the year 2018. Especially when the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic, the hunger rate in Kenya has increased drastically and approximately 19.1% of the people will suffer malnutrition.

Dato’ Sri Jessy Lai, who is the founder and the CEO of Monspace has sponsored a few children in Kenya a few years ago, but the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic has worsened the situation in Kenya as COVID-19 has affected global food productions and distributions. After comprehending the chronic hunger situation in Kenya, Dato’ Sri Jessy Lai decided to provide more sponsorships for the children who are currently facing chronic hunger in Kenya so that the children can survive with a clean water supply, sufficient food supplies, and effective medical support if needed.

As the outbreaks of COVID-19 worsened the chronic hunger situation in Kenya, Monspace users also showed their support by joining the sponsorships together with Dato’ Sri Jessy Lai in helping the children who suffer from chronic hunger in Kenya. At the same time, Dato’ Sri Jessy Lai encouraged the public to protect those children who never had a chance to achieve their dreams and help them to grow healthily.
